Gang sheet pricing is simple once you know the rule: you pay per sheet, not per design. The more designs you fit on a sheet, the less each one costs. This guide lists every Mocked Up sheet size and price, shows how to work out the cost per print, and gives tips for pricing your own products if you resell.
Gang sheet sizes and prices
All prices are in NZD. There is no minimum order.
| Sheet size | Price | Good for |
|---|---|---|
| 21 x 27cm | $18 | A few small logos or one small print |
| 27 x 37cm | $20 | One front print, or a handful of chest logos |
| 42 x 59cm | $25 | Two or three front prints, or a mix of sizes |
| 42 x 100cm | $45 | Small runs and mixed orders |
| 42 x 200cm | $90 | Team kits and small brand drops |
| 42 x 300cm | $135 | Larger orders |
| 42 x 400cm | $180 | Bulk runs |
| 42 x 500cm | $225 | Bulk runs and stock for resale |
The 42cm-wide sheets are cut from a roll and work out at $45 per metre. The "good for" notes are rough guides. What actually fits depends on your print sizes.
How to choose a sheet size
Start with the size of each print, not the number of shirts. A few common sizes to plan with:
- Left chest or pocket logo: around 8 to 10cm wide
- Adult front print: around 25 to 30cm wide
- Full back print: up to about 30cm wide
- Kids front print: around 18 to 22cm wide
- Sleeve or neck print: around 5 to 8cm wide
Then add up roughly how much space you need, allowing a small gap between designs for cutting. If you are unsure, pick a size in the gang sheet builder, add your designs, and use Auto Build to pack them. If they do not fit, step up a size. If there is lots of room left, step down or add extra copies.
Working out the cost per print
To find your cost per print, divide the sheet price by the number of designs on it.
Some worked examples on a 42 x 100cm sheet at $45:
- Chest logos at 9 x 9cm: with small cutting gaps you can fit roughly 50 on the sheet. That is under $1 each.
- Front prints at 28 x 30cm: two across the width and three down fits six. That is $7.50 each.
- A mix: four front prints plus 15 chest logos in the gaps. That is 19 prints for $45.
These numbers are estimates. Real layouts vary with the shape of your artwork. Round or odd-shaped designs leave more gaps than square ones. The builder shows you the real layout before you pay.
How to price gang sheets if you resell
Many small brands and print shops buy gang sheets and press the transfers onto garments they sell. When setting your prices, add up every cost, not just the print:
- Transfer cost: sheet price divided by the number of prints.
- Blank garment: what you pay per tee, hoodie or bag.
- Shipping in: your share of freight on transfers and blanks. Mocked Up ships free on orders over $200.
- Misprints and spares: allow a small percentage for pressing mistakes.
- Your time: pressing, packing and admin.
- Packaging and shipping out: bags, labels and courier costs.
- Platform and payment fees: if you sell online.
Once you know your total cost per item, add your margin on top. Check what similar products sell for in your market, but avoid pricing on cost alone. Your design, brand and service all add value.
Tips to get more from each sheet
- Combine orders. Put several jobs on one bigger sheet instead of ordering lots of small ones.
- Trim transparent padding from your PNG files so designs pack tighter.
- Fill leftover space with spare copies or small logos you can use later.
- Save your sheets. The builder lets you save and reopen sheets, so reorders are quick.
